25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 “So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

25. それ故、私はあなたがたに言う。何をあなたがたは食べ、何を飲むのかと、あなたがたの魂のために心配し、また、何を着ようかと、あなたがたの体のために心配していてはいけない。その命は、食べ物に勝り、又、その体は、着物に勝ってはいないか？
26. 空の鳥たちを見なさい。彼らは蒔かず、刈り取らず、集めて倉に入れる事もしていない。しかし、天にいます、あなたがたの御父は、彼らを養っておられる。あなたがたは、彼らより、はるかに優れた者ではないか？
27. 又、あなたがたの内の、だれが心配する事によって、彼の身長を一キュービット加える事ができるのか？
28. また、何故、着るものについて心配しているのか？野のユリたちが、どのようにして育つのかをよく考えなさい。彼らは働かず、紡いでもいない。
29. しかし、あなたがたに言う。ソロモーンも、彼の栄耀栄華の中でさえも、これらの中の一つほどにも装ってはいなかった。
30. 今日は、野にあるが、明日には炉に投げ入れられる野の草でさえも、天の神はこのように装って下さるのなら、尚更のことあなたがたにして下さらない事があろうか？ああ、信仰の小さな者たちよ。
31. だから、心配して、『何をわたしたちは食べるのか、何をわたしたちは飲むのか、又、何を着るのか』と言っていてはならない。
32. これらの物はすべて、諸国民たちが慕い求めているものではないか。天におられるあなたがたの父は、あなたがたにはこれらの物すべてが必要である事を、ご存じなのだ。
33. だから、まず、天の神の王国と、彼の義とを求めていなさい。そうすれば、これらの物はみな、あなたがたに加えられる。
34. だから、明日について心配していてはならない。それらの事は、明日自身が心配するからだ。その日のやっかい事[15]は、それだけで十分だ。
